How to make Mini Apple Pastries
Easy Apple Pastries
These easy apple pastries are super easy to make and are a great sweet treat on a cold winter's day. Inspired by the flaky goodness of Danish pastries, blending crisp puff pastry with a warm, spiced apple filling.
Ingredients
Pastry Ingredients
- 1 sheet of puff pastry
- 1 apple, peeled and grated
- 100g butter
- 80g light brown sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tbsp flaked almonds
- 1 tbsp pistachio nuts
Glaze
- 80g icing sugar
- 1 tbsp warm water
Instructions
- Mix the butter, sugar, cinnamon, vanilla extract, and apple into a uniform paste in a bowl.
- Roll out the pastry sheet and cut it in half along the longest side.
- Spread the ingredients paste onto one of the pastry sheets.
- Then place the other half of the pastry sheet on top.
- Cut lengthways into 6 strips. Then take each strip and twist them about 4-5 times. Do not worry if the contents spill a little bit.
- Then place the twisted strips on a baking sheet and curl them into a circular shape.
- Sprinkle the nuts on top, then bake in the oven for about 25 minutes at 180C or until the pastries have turned a nice light brown colour.
- Remove from the oven and allow to cool.
- In the meantime mix the icing sugar and water to create the topping.
- When cool, drip the icing over the pastry before serving.
Notes
Serve with a cup of tea or coffee.
